Gordo and I were partners a few years in the late '90s. He thought that I would be a good teammate because I "had great wheels, sharp doubles reverse corner, and was the one doubles partner that he could find that didn’t party as much as he did!"
We won the US National Vets Doubles Title together in 1998 held in Denver.

John,
I had no idea what you had to go though since 2013. Unbelievable! You have been a warrior through AML and then you had a stroke! God has not been fair to you. I also had a stroke in 2012. Yes, John I gave up smoking right away.
But this isn’t about me…. It is you who is the hero. I hope you are enjoying each and every day.
I thought you would like a few pictures I have in my home. The one is Mick Jagger and I having a beer at my little club back then called The Bay Street Racquet Club. Keith Richards got caught for drugs crossing the border from Toronto and the Stones had to play a concert with all proceeds going to charity. Mick’s manager called our club to see if the two of them could play squash. They came over when just my sister and I were there, they played, and then went up to our little bar with us to have a beer. That was the best shot my sister Bonnie could take with her camera. Mick could use a few lessons.
The second shot is a whose who picture of The Mennen Cup tournament at the Toronto Squash Club. It was the highest ranked squash players from eight countries in hardball. I was one of the first matches against Geoff Hunt and it went to points in the fifth. I’m glad I lost because Hunt went on to the final against Sharif as expected.
Ah those were the days eh?
Gordon
