Our AWESOME!! Expanded 2019-20 Hardball Singles Squash Tournament schedule is kicking into gear, with UPCOMING tournaments in DC, at Merion, NYC, Santa Fe and Atlantic City.
It is NOW time to sign up for the Nov. 1-3, the 17th Annual Cardinal Tournament in DC at the Metropolitan Club. The MET has the best of the best traditional 18.5’ hardball court. The application is attached. DC is BEAUTIFUL (always) but especially this time of year, so PLEASE come and play.
For those who not able to go to DC, Merion is holding a one day Hardball Singles Squash event, on Saturday Nov. 2nd, with Open, B, 40+, 50+ 60+ and a 70+ Divisions on its wide, glass back courts with the new Dunlop Hardball for the wide courts, which has attracted (understandably) GREAT interest there, given the many Philadelphia area doubles players. Contact Whitney Thain, wthain@merioncricket.com 610.642.5800 ext. 260.
Thereafter, on Nov. 15th-17th, we have the always hotly contested Milt Russ at the Harvard Club in NYC. Contact Richard Chin at richard@hcny.com or (212) 827-1267.
That is followed up by the always popular KIVA Classic in Santa Fe, with its matching, well attended Doubles tournament. One can contact grantcdavis@me.com, 720-308- 7101 or Drewe Williams, kivasquashpro@gmail. com, 216-973-8511
Thereafter, we have the Atlantic Coast Championships, Singles (on the wide courts with the Dunlop new ball) and Doubles.
As you can see, an increasing number of our tournaments are on the wide courts, with proactive promotional support from US Squash and Dunlop for our National Championships, this year on the wide courts at the Meadow Mill Club in Baltimore, on April 22-24, with the new Dunlop Hardball for play on the wide courts. (The new Dunlop ball also -- for me -- plays GREAT on the 18.5’ courts.)
Anyone wanting new Dunlop Hardball Singles balls can get them, in boxes of 12, from Dunlop through Patsy McDowell at patsy.mcdowell@dunlopsports. com. One can get them through Dunlop for individual purchase. they are also available on line through Squashgalaxy.com; Squashgear.com, and Squashproshop.com
The following is the presently known schedule, noting hardball doubles and other National Championships as well.
As always, Hardball Singles Squash is a GREAT Game!! And GREAT Fun!! It keeps you FIT for a LIFETIME!!!
